The World of Autea

Locations and Informations

In the world of Autea, there are 12 domains, each representative of one possible element, and thus, one god that lives there. The light in the domains reflect the colors of the element; pink for Emotions, blue for Water, lime for Life, et cetera. The domains are all spread across one supercontinent, with a massive sea in the middle. There is no place in the mortal realm that has truly neutral light; even the center of the Central Sea has no true light, simply shifting rapidly between colors depending on where one stands.

Fire Domain

The Fire domain is the farthest north in the continent, in the rain shadow of some massive mountains. It is, for the most part, an extremely hot and arid desert with oases few and far between. The area is well-known for its exports of glassware.

Earth Domain

The Earth domain is quite similar to the Fire domain, though oases and scrublands are far more common. Most of the population in the Earth domain lives high up in the mountains, often near the entrances of caves within those mountains. They are well-known for their exports of ore and gemstones.

Light Domain

The Light domain is a savanna, for the most part. Some Light mages are nomadic, but for the most part they do live in small, spread-out villages.

Life Domain

The Life domain is primarily thick forests, with mostly level terrain and well-worn paths between villages. Most Life mages live in houses built into and out of trees, with rope bridges often connecting them. The Life domain is most well known for its exports of wood, and exotic fruits and herbs that cannot grow anywhere else.

Plague Domain

The Plague domain is a dense, incredibly thick jungle with difficult-to-traverse terrain. Communities are small and tight-knit, but incredibly difficult to find.

Wind Domain

The Wind domain is very spread-out, with rolling hills and meadows, with occasional dots of bamboo forests. Out of all of the domains, Wind has the smallest population of its native element - after all, wind mages do seem prone to "going wherever the wind takes them," so to speak. They are most known for their crafts in the area of woodwind instruments.

Future Domain

The Future domain is easily the most populated, and some would say cramped, of all the domains. It is made up of a massive city that covers nearly the entire domain, and is most famous for its attractions; casinos, clubs, and the like.

Water Domain

The Water domain is very much, well, watery - lots of rivers, lakes, ponds, marshes, and any sort of body of water the mind could think of. It has an average population density, and is best known for its wide variety of seafood.

Shade Domain

The Shade domain is almost entirely thick, deep forests that let almost no light through to the forest floor. It is incredibly easy to get lost in if you don't have an experienced guide with you.

Death Domain

Past Domain

The Past domain is primarily small quaint villages, separated by wide swathes of land. They're most well known for their exports of staple crops; wheat, potatoes, rice, that sort of thing.

The Outskirts

Far, far from the realm of Autea, at the very edges of the world, there is a layer of thick, cobalt fog. Attempting to sail into it generally just spits you back out the other direction. To get through the fog, one would either need the help of a god or incredible will. Some days, when the fog is particularly thin, a faint neutral light will pass through, revealing the true element of whatever auteans are there.

The Realm of the Gods

The Realm of the Gods, much like the mortal realm it surrounds, is split into 12 portions, each the home of a certain god. All of these realms have neutral lighting. Each domain of this realm is subject to the whims of the current god of it, and thus is very likely to change when the god is replaced.
