Rivest is the god of isolation and disease. Contrary to what his aspect may imply, Rivest is actually quite friendly and loves chatting with others - he merely just has a very low social battery, and doesn't remember to check in with others unless someone else prompts it. If he were to remain dead too long, diseases would go unchecked - new and deadlier plagues would pop up near-constantly, and the chance of someone recovering from any disease would go down to near-zero.
